The AOK program
opens with an extravagant, empowering, and inspirational speech
given by Brian Williams. . .this is no ordinary speech. Brian will
be doing high flying kicks, back flips, dancing, and will end with
an amazing brick breaking routine. Children will learn that one
simple act of kindness can help someone break through any obstacle
in life. One simple act of kindness can cause a ripple that impacts
the lives of millions. . . and with this in mind . . . we give them
a challenge.
Each school
will be given a two week supply of AOK journals, one journal for
each student. Each journal will allow a child to document 10 random
acts of kindness, anything from holding a door open to planting
a tree. No act is too small to document.
Though simple
acts of kindness, the AOK program will empower kids to seek out
ways to make another person’s day just a little bit brighter
for nothing in return. Each school will ignite an atomic bomb of
kindness within their community. Children will be asked to constantly
think about ways to make someone’s day just a little bit brighter.
We all know
what it feels like to have someone let us take the last parking
spot or allow us to cut in line. Through simple acts of kindness,
children will begin to realize the effects of their actions on other
people. In the end, everyone wins.
